A person can never have too many hats!
Hi! I'm Laura and I've been a maker for my entire life. I got started decorating hats 15 years ago as a hobby when I started going to music festivals. I did custom hats here and there for friends but decided to take the leap and focus fully on the art of hat making during the Covid19 Pandemic. Thus, The Bent Brim Hat Studio was born.
For me, hats provide protection and a way to stand out from the crowd. Adding just a little customization can not only set you apart but also quickly garner a compliment.
The art of hat making has allowed me to combine the skills I've acquired over the years in sewing, jewelry making, and graphic design. Although I enjoy making hats for daily wear, my favorite hats to make are "party hats" because they can be extremely extravagant.
A hat should be a reflection of the wearer and that reflection can change from day to day which is why I believe a person can never have too many hats!
